The University of Hartford wishes to recognize the members of the class of 1964 as we celebrate with them the 50th anniversary of their graduation from one of the youngest private universities in the nation.
“UHart” is still building its traditions, one of which is known as “the Golden Hawks.” Since 2007, members of the 50th reunion class have been invited to convene on campus and participate in our Spring Commencement ceremony in a place of honor in the procession.
This year, a reception will be held at a location on campus on the afternoon of Saturday, May 17, after which classmates may organize their own gatherings, dinners, or activities. On the morning of Sunday, May 18, our Golden Hawks will gather to take part in the Commencement proceedings. Golf carts will transport the Golden Hawks to and from Hawk Hall, and there will be a special luncheon in their honor immediately following the graduation ceremonies.
Another “tradition” that we would like to build upon is the 50th Reunion Class campaign.
Here’s how it works:
All contributions made by members of the Class of 1964 for any purpose at the University, from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2014, will be counted toward the 50th Reunion Class campaign total.
Gifts to the Anchor Fund are strongly encouraged, as we hope to set the bar for future Golden Hawks classes for annual participation. Special recognition will also be given to those who inform us of plans they have made in their wills, revocable trusts, retirement plans, and other devises from their estate.
Examples of gift plans that would be counted as part of the 50th Reunion campaign:
Come see how much the University has grown in 50 years, and come back to see old friends, former classmates, and perhaps some people you might wish you had known 50 years ago.
